Classes: Policies

Please, read the entire page. For your convenience, the most important paragraphs have * next to them.

Attendance Policy for Mosaic Sphere Studio, LLC (text © by Mosaic Sphere Studio)

The following policies apply at Mosaic Sphere Studio, LLC:

General Attendance:

- *All students are expected to show up each week and on time. Regardless of show up time, full payment will be charged for a class. No class pro-rating for being late or leaving early.

- *Liability waver (“Disclaimer”) must be signed by all the students regardless of age or amount of experience.

- All students must fill in their contact information that includes their full address, phone, and e-mail. Mosaic Sphere Studio will not sell or trade this information with other parties.

- Each student is responsible for cleaning up their workspace and putting studio tools and other equipment away.

Tuition and Fees:

-*A $35 deposit is required in order to sign up for ongoing classes. It is in addition to the class fee. It will be refunded towards the last class' cost. You must complete your first project or take at least 7 sessions in order to receive a refund. No deposit refunds or credits are given if the student signs up and fails to show up for classes. This includes all unforeseen circumstances.

- *Ongoing classes must be pre-paid for the month of attendance. For example, if there are 4 classes in a given month, the student is expected to pay for 4 classes upfront at the beginning of a given month.  All ongoing classes payments are due 1st week of the month.

-* Project fees must be paid in advance.

-*Short workshop class fees are due in full at the time of registration.

-*A $35 deposit is required in order to be wait listed for classes. If we can’t sign the student up within 6 weeks, we will gladly refund this deposit, unless the student decides to wait longer.

Missing a Class for Ongoing Classes:

-* It is a responsibility of a student to give at least a 48 hr notice by e-mail or a 24 hr notice by phone if the student plans to miss a class. If a shorter notice is given, the student will be charged for a class REGARDLESS OF ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.  There are NO EXCEPTIONS. In case of a family-related EMERGENCY, a make-up class or an equivalent Open Studio time will be provided to that student.

- If a timely notice is given, a make-up class or an equivalent Open Studio time will be provided.

- A make-up class must be attended within 4 weeks of a missed class. All missed make-up classes will be charged for regardless of any circumstances.

Missing a Class for Short Workshops:

- If the workshop meets more than 6 times, and a student has to miss a class, a make-up class may be offered at a different section, providing the spot is available. No make-up classes are provided for workshops that meet less than 6 times. No refunds or credits are provided for a missed class or classes.

Discontinuing Classes:

- 2 week notice must be given if the student plans to discontinue attending classes or plans to take more than a 3-week break. If less notice is given, student deposit will be retained by Mosaic Sphere Studio.  Upon return a new deposit will be charged.

Refunds and Studio Credits:

- If the student fails to show up for classes, Mosaic Sphere Studio will give that student 2 e-mail or 1 phone call notices. If the student fails to respond within 30 days of the notice no refunds or credits will be issued. In extreme circumstances studio credit will be issued if response is received within 60 days of the notice. 

- If the student decides to discontinue classes with at least a 2 week notice time, he/she will be given back a refund for pre-paid classes and a deposit.

- If the student decides to discontinue classes on a less than a 2 week notice, he/she will be given back a refund for pre-paid classes, but their deposit will not be refunded.

- Deposit money may only be refunded if the student takes more than 7 classes.  

- Refunds for the Short Workshops will be issued as follows:

Project Storage:

-Project storage is available for work in progress. Any work left unattended for over 4 weeks after the last class was taken will be considered abandoned by a student. Studio assumes no responsibility for abandoned works and reserves the right to dispose of them at any time. There are absolutely no exceptions to this policy! Mosaic Sphere will give the student up to 2 e-mail notices or 1 phone call before discarding the work. All left over materials and tools will become property of Mosaic Sphere Studio and may not be claimed at a later time.

Tools and Materials:

- All tools and materials, including stained glass, smalti, cutters, nippers, glues, grouts and other supplies are property of Mosaic Sphere Studio unless they have been purchased by students for their personal use. Many tools are expensive and very special. Students are expected to treat the tools and materials with respect and care.

- Project fee covers ONLY materials that are used to complete the project and that actually makeup a project. All extra materials selected by the student while working on the project must be returned to the studio during or promptly after the  completion of the project.

- As a courtesy to others, all the students are asked to only use and store enough glass necessary to complete their project.

Safety at the Studio, Mezzanine Area:

- Shoes must be worn at all the times while on the premises of the studio.

- Students are expected to act responsibly and to respect all the safety rules at the studio.

- There is a First Aid Kit at the studio. All the cuts and pokes that result in bleeding must be immediately treated and covered with a bandage. All the surfaces that have been in contact with blood must be disinfected with alcohol or chlorine wipes. All tools have to be washed.

- No students are allowed on the mezzanine area- this is Yulia’s personal space. 

Books and Other Supplies:

- Students are welcome to use the books on the studio premises. Because studio only has 1 copy of each book students may not borrow books for use outside of studio.

Studio reserves a right to decline services to those individuals who don’t comply with the Class Attendance Policy.

Bounced Check Policy :
All bounced checks will be subject to a $35 recovery fee. And you shall be banned from paying by check forever!
