Outdoor Mosaics
Saturday, June 7, 2008, 1-5pm
Instructor: Virginia Stevens
Great way to experience mosaic media in a 4 hr workshop. In this class you will have a choice of either a stepping stone/sun dial or a wall piece for the outdoors. We will work with concrete and glass tiles, pebbles, plates and other materials. You will learn how to use the materials correctly so your pieces can last in outdoor conditions. Cost: $85, materials included. Participants are welcome to bring their own tiles/pebbles to be incorporated into their mosaic.

Beginner Mosaics 6 Week Workshop
Mornings, Wed 9-11am, April 23-May 28
Instructor: Yulia Hanansen.
This workshop was designed for total beginners in mosaic making. Which tools to use? How to cut/nip glass properly? What substrates and adhesives to choose? We will learn basics of mosaic design, shading, coloring, tile cutting techniques, layout, and grouting. Some history of mosaic techniques will be discussed. This 6 week workshop is supplemented with 4 hrs of Open Studio time. Cost: $278 (a $36 project fee is included).
Beginner Mosaics 8 Week Workshop
Evenings, Tue 6-8pm, Sept 23- Nov 11, 2008

This 8 week workshop is supplemented with 4 hrs of Open Studio time. Cost: $325 (a $36 project fee is included).
Youth Mosaic Camp at Mosaic Sphere Studio. 3 half-day workshop.
June 18-20, Wd-Fri, 2008. Time: 9am-12pm
Instructor: Yulia Hanansen.
Upon popular demand this workshop was created for youth ages 10 and up who are interested in learning the art of mosaic making. Students will learn how to create the design for mosaic, how to lay out the tiles and shape them to fit the image, and how to grout the final piece. Registration Deadline: June 11.

1 Week Intensive Workshop: Stained Glass Mosaics: Methods and Techniques.
Monday-Friday, Summer, 2008. July 28-August 1, 2008.
Instructor: Yulia Hanansen.
In this well loved, packed with information workshop we will explore the mosaic technique that uses stained glass as media. How to cut stained glass and make tesserae out of it? What is tesserae? What substrate to use and what adhesives? How to grout your piece in a way that grout complements it? How do you cut your tiny pieces anyway?! An introduction to the history of mosaics and mosaic techniques will be given during the first class. Cost: $360, plus materials. Please click here for Workshop Details.

Family Mosaic Workshop.
2 Saturdays, Sept 13 & 20 (no home game those weekends)
Instructor: TBA.
Bring in entire family to work on a collaborative mosaic project! Kids ages 4 and up are welcome. As you work in a team, watch your family masterpiece emerge at the end of the workshop. A choice of a mirror or a wall piece. Tools and materials are provided or bring your own precious riles and objects to be incorporated into mosaic. This class is limited to 16 students.
Cost: $120 per couple (additional family members pay $50), plus $60 for materials (the wood panel that the mosaic will be made on is framed). Registration Deadline: Sept 7, 2008.
REGISTRATION POLICY:
All Short Workshop class fees are due in full at the time of registration (except where noted).

REFUND POLICY:
Full refund, minus $30 cancellation fee if workshop is dropped 14 days or earlier before the start date (see special rules for 1 week Intensive Workshop and Youth Mosaic Workshop). A 50% refund if the workshop is dropped 13-7 days before the start date. No refunds will be given after that, no exceptions. This includes unforeseen circumstances. Studio credit may be given if missed a class under special circumstances. In case if the workshop is cancelled by Mosaic Sphere Studio, full refund will be given.
BOUNCED CHECK POLICY:
All bounced checks will be subject to a $25 fee paid in cash.
