Public and Community Projects: Ann Arbor Public Library, Ann Arbor, MI
"Mosaics: Moments Captured in Glass" show was organized in April of 2006 by Ann Arbor Public Library and Mosaic Sphere STudio. It showcased the artwork of students who have practiced their mosaic-making skills at the Mosaic Sphere Studio. The goal was to draw in the community and exhibit a variety of possibilities and levels of perfection that mosaics offer. The show featured over 60 pieces made by 40 different artists ranging in their age from seniors to working folk, high school and university students, to 1.5 year old kid. Exhibition drew a lot of public attention and became one of the most colorful shows that was organized at the library.
The show was accompanied by a lecture and a visual presentation on The Art of Mosaics by Yulia Hanansen.
