Public and Community Projects: Scarlett Middle School, Ann Arbor, MI

Habits of Mind mosaic project was initiated by Susan Buchan, counselor at Scarlett Middle School in Ann Arbor, MI with the support from Ann Arbor Education Foundation grant.

For the duration of several weeks 6th grade students were working on completion of 16 mosaic panels that illustrate Habits of Mind. A HABIT OF MIND is knowing how to behave intelligently when you DON'T know the answer . Students worked during the afterschool hours, and during some art class periods. After completion and grouting, the pieces were installed at the School's Cafeteria, where they can be viewed.
